Boiling Crab

I recently tried my hand at a seafood restaurant called BOILING CRAB. Not being the one to really be open to trying new food or new places, for that matter, I couldn't help but hear the rumblings of success. So after months of my friends asking me to go, I finally gave in.

Let me tell you what, I was truly missing out! This place was great. Not only was the food on point, but the ambiance was amazing as well. Sharpie writing on the walls of patrons that have been there before. The smell of seafood went all around the premise. All of the prices were way cheaper than the other types of restaurants I've been to before. Quite possibly the best!

I extremely urge you to check this place out. Two locations in Alhambra are there for your convenience, one on Main St. and one on Valley Blvd.

Matt Ryan: Fact or Fiction

In the age of multimedia, every journalist has an opinion. This isn't any different. The topic, Matt Ryan quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons. The subject, whether or not he is an elite NFL quarterback.

With this past week behind him, Matt Ryan is happy to get away from a dreadful game. 5 interceptions with 0 touchdowns. A game that would get most quarterbacks fired.

Yet there is something different about Matt Ryan, as opposed to other quarterbacks, he found a way to win the game. His determination to win the game rivals old quarterbacks like Brett Favre and Steve Young. The question is, is he even in the same conversation as the other two?

My answer would be a yes, soon. One thing that has been knocked on the other two is their turnover rate. But with those turnovers, they also make high risk-high reward plays. They find a way to WIN THE GAME. Right now, out of all the NFL quarterbacks, I'd say Matt Ryan resembles them the most. My conclusion is....

FACT.... For right now

STAR WARS to DISNEY?!

It was announced earlier today that Disney has bought out Lucas Films for 4.05 billion dollars. Then quickly told fans of the Star Wars franchise the plans to release a Star Wars VII in 2015. Leaving me and many of my colleagues to wonder why George Lucas continuously decides to ruin the childhoods of many of us.

When Phantom Menace: Star Wars I was announced, fans were rejoicing! That was until the movie showed, and it is under the general idea that is was a piece of crap movie that was hyped up so much yet delivered so little. Ruining the franchise for many fans. There are still people here today that just block out the latest 3 movies and just "Remember the good ol' days." You can't blame them, the last 3 movies sucked! "Special Effects Overload," is what I like to refer the s**t show that I witnessed.

I beg of you George Lucas, STOP THIS MADNESS before you ruin more adult's views of their childhood!

The Comeback Kids

I can't believe it happened again, the San Francisco Giants actually came back to beat the St. Louis Cardinals. Not only winning, but dominating the past three games in the series! Now I am in no way a San Francisco fan, especially since they knocked out my Cincinnati Reds, but you have to have respect for what they have been able to accomplish these past two series. No hope you say? Well apparently they saw the bigger picture! Now on to the World Series against the dominate Detroit Tigers, with their triple-crown winner Cabrera leading the charge. I personally believe that they will lose to the Tigers, yet there is one thing that I have certainly learned from this Postseason. That is, do NOT count out the Giants.

SF Giants are making moves to continue their playoff sucess

The San Francisco Giants are a come back team this post season. Being down two games to none against the Cincinnati Reds playing at Great American Ball park, they came back with a vengeance. Winning three games in a row to move onto the next series. With the strength of the Giants bullpen, they moved through the Reds lineup to take the series. Buster Posey (The Giants catcher) proved clutch by knocking in a grand slam late in the game to clinch the fifth game of the Reds/Giants series.

Now they are poised to do the same to the St. Louis Cardinals (last years World Series Champions). Tying the game up one to one, they are headed to St. Louis to advance to the next round.

A student at California State University of Los Angeles, Bradley Perez, talked to me about the Giants push in the playoffs.

SB NATION

WWW.SBNATION.COM is a sports blog that shares news, scores, opinions, and links to blogs for all professional sports teams. It is a central hub for all sports information on 316 teams. Updated on a daily basis because of the fast paced world of sports that we surround ourselves with. This blog literally gives you all the information any sports fan would like to have. It packages it well to where there is a lot of information coming towards you at once, but it is very easy to read and well organized! If there was one thing that I would like to incorporate into my blog from SBNation would have to be the simplicity of the drop down menu. It is so easy to access everything, very simply yet very effective. The bio that they give isn't your normal telling of the organization. All of their individual sports blogs are made by the fans, for the fans. They cycle through and pick the best blog they see for the professional sports teams. It does tell the reader about how the blogs work, yet don't give much insight into who is the one who is writing the information.

TVF 454: My views of the class after DAY 1

Going in on a Tuesday night at 6:00pm. I didn't know what to expect as far as what the class had in store for me. A hand full of students sitting in front of a sea-full of iMac Desktop Computers. I took my rightful place in the front row. Knowing that this class will have something to do with social media, I didn't realize that it would end up being this interactive.

Using our cell phones to mock interview one of my fellow classmates. The interview went towards a long probing of celebrities such as Ryan Reynolds,  Blake Lively, and Scarlett Johanasson. He would quickly unravel a huge story of how he was romantically involved with those too aforementioned actresses and how it has ruined his friendship with Mr. Reynolds. Let's just say that the story telling got out of hand.

We shuffled our way back to class to start watching videos that the professor had looked up before hand. Some entertaining, some lack luster. But overall very informative. The class ending at 10pm, although I will be getting out at approximately 9:30pm as I finish this last post. Starting the quarter off right with my one and only class, I am getting the feeling that this will be a pretty entertaining and exciting scholastic term.
